Selma Mehadžić

Born in Pula in 1984. She holds a Master’s degreein Journalism from the Faculty of Political Science in Zagreb. After graduation,for several years she worked on the organizational teams of the Zagreb FilmFestival, ZagrebDox, Amateur Film Review, Motovun Film Festival, AnimafestZagreb and on projects of the production house Propeler Film. In 2007, shejoined the Zagreb Film Festival artistic organisation as programmingcoordinator, and currently works as their head of film distribution, as well asproducer and selector. For ten years, from 2009 to 2019, she worked as head offilm programming at the Europa Cinema in Zagreb. She often collaborates withother organizations as film programming coordinator and consultant (Art CinemaArsen in Šibenik, Cinema Valli in Pula, Center for Culture Čakovec, etc.). In2016, she launched KinoKino – International Film Festival for Children, theonly festival in Croatia dedicated to professional feature films for children.She is a member of the European Film Academy (EFA), for three years, she was amember of the selection panels for the Best European Comedy of the Year (2019–2021),and the LUX Prize of the European Parliament (2018–2020).
