Arsen received his BA in film directing from the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb, Croatia in 1991 and his MFA in filmmaking from New York University in 1994, both with honors. He directed four feature films, out of which he produced two. These four films together got about 95 awards and accolades at national and international film festivals and three were Croatia’s official entries for the Oscar. He also directed one long-running stage play and several award-winning documentaries and short films. He coproduced an animated feature film "The Oddsockeaters" which became one of the highest grossing Czech animated feature films in history. He was an associate producer on feature documentary "Trezoros" which ran for an Oscar in 2016. Currently, he is producing and directing an animated feature film “The Crystal Planet” together with Czech and Slovak partners. He worked on about 20 feature films in Europe and in the United States as an assistant director, production manager or line producer. He is also a professor of film production at the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb; he also taught in New York and in Austria. He’s been a member of the European Film Academy since 2005.
